A laminate floor and you want to keep it looking great, it's good to apply a polish every few months and one I really like is this Bona floor. Polish, it's for laminate floors, also stone and tile, and what's nice about this is it's water-based and it's also non-toxic. So I really like this product and the way we want to apply. It is first really clean the floor. Well, you've got to have everything up and it needs to be dry, so clean the floor first and then I use the Bonas applicator pad and this is their cleaning pad, which you want to remove, and you want to buy their specific applicator pad for polish and what we want to do is just get this damn, so we're just going to run it under water and just wring it out.
You want it to be just slightly damp and we're going to put it back applicator and then what we want to do is just mix the Polish and you don't want to shake it vigorously, because you're going to create a lot of air bubbles, so just rotate. It a few times so you're mixing the product, and then you want to apply it in a nice fairly thick solution. So I'm just going to make a wave pattern and you can kind of see on doing it. A container like this is going to do about 500 square feet and we're going to do a crisscross pattern this. So the way I want to start is: I want to go against the grain, so we have the grain running this direction, I'm going to go back and forth first and then I'm going to pull it all.
So our first motion is getting a little of the polish on the pan and then I'm just going to work it back and forth across the grain, and you want it to look very wet if it's too thin, it can actually dry and leave some hazing. So you want a fairly wet look when you apply this and once you work it in real. Well, then we're just going to pull it toward us to the area where we left off and we're just going to work in small sections like this. So I still have a little product here, so I'm just going to keep that wet edge and work it back and forth against the grain first and then I'm going to go past where I left off and then just very light pressure, I'm just pulling it so We smooth it out and we're making sure that we cover everything and now we'll apply some more again get kind of a lathe patter like this and then we'll just continue this process through the whole.
That's all there is to it very easy to apply, and I actually like their tool with this pivoting head, because it's very maneuverable it's very easy to put down, and they suggest that you wait at least two hours before you walk on it and you'd want to Wait about 24 hours before you put anything heavy like a table back onto it, but if you have an older laminate floor, this brings back the life it makes it look great, has a nice shine, so just an excellent product if you're looking to protect and maintain A laminate floor,
